Salton Rice Cookers
The Salton company has a whole host of brand names under its belt, so your rice cooker may be called a Salton, or a Faberware, or a Russel Hobbs or a Toastmaster. The George Foreman brand is also part of the Salton group, so once he's done promoting grills they may get him to put his name to a rice cooker, if he's looking for a healthier diet that is.
There are seven rice cookers which carry the Salton brand name. They are all basic, no frills models that sell at a reasonable price. Salton rice cookers are available at 3, 5, 7, 10 and 14 cup sizes. Each cup size, except for the 10 the 14, is available in a model with or without an external stack on the top type steamer rack. Besides the standard cook and keep warm functions, Salton rice cookers come with an internal steaming tray, a measuring cup and rice paddle and a glass lid so you can see how the rice is cooking if you are so inclined, though in my experience it's best left to its own devices.
Faberware rice cookers
If you are looking for a few more extras than the basic Salton rice cookers have to offer have a look at the Faberware brand, also from Salton. Three Faberware rice cooker models available, the FSR C100, FRA 100A and the FRA 500.
The FSR C100, a 10 cup model differs only slightly from the equivalent Salton model by the fact that it has power cord storage. The FRA 100A and FRA 500, 10 and 5 cup models respectfully show further improvement with the addition of non-stick pans and stainless steel bodies.
Russell Hobbs rice cooker
The 10 cup Russell Hobbs rice cooker from Salton is almost identical to the FRA 100A model Faberware rice cooker, at least in external appearance. It once again features the non-stick pan and stainless steel body.
Toastmaster rice cooker
Lastly the Toastmaster rice cooker, TRC 7, a 7 cup model looks identical to its Salton equivalent the RA7 and is likewise a basic model rice cooker featuring a glass lid and a steamer tray in addition to the standard cook and keep warm features.
